KCPQ-TV, the Fox affiliate in Seattle, has debuted a new set from Broadcast Design International that uses video walls to create a variety of dynamic backgrounds while capturing the Pacific Northwest.
The set’s main anchor area features a curved desk with a variety of staggered wood block sections on the left side and an internally lit portion on the right side.

Behind the anchor desk, a LED video wall creates a flexible background that changes based on daypart along with backlit wall sections. The cityscape image in the middle fades gently into a matching color with, creating a smooth transition between set and video panels.
Dimensional reclaimed wood knee walls are featured throughout the set, including in the two multipurpose standup areas on either side of the set, which each includes a freestanding 3×3 nine panel video array from Primeview that’s backed with a textural gold-toned wall.
The left video wall, which uses larger 55″ SNG FHD LED IPS monitors, is used mainly for weather. The right video wall, which is comprised of 49″ super narrow gap FHD LED IPS monitors, is used for sports and stories.
Above the main set area are faux windows that give the set a loft-like feel, with exposed beams connecting the various venues.
On the other side of the studio, a morning and interview set includes a faux window into Puget Sound with transom headers.
A small touchscreen monitor is located on the far right.
